TDP activist Madhu alleges threat from YCP Silpa Chakrapani

Telugu Desam activist Abhiruchi Madhu alleged that he was threatened by YCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy’s brother Silpa Chakrapani Reddy.

The incident occurred when Silpa Chakrapani and Madhu went to attend the funeral of YCP activist S Mohammed Basha and a row ensued over parking the car. Workers of both parties quarrelled, and stones were pelted at Madhu’s car, and his window pane was damaged. Madhu’s private gunman opened five rounds of fire, but no casualty was reported.

Madhu talking to the media said that when he was on his way to attend the funeral of Basha, YCP leaders stopped him at Suraj Grand Hotel and as pre-planned came to attack him with hundreds of rowdies. He requested for police protection.

On the other hand, his version raised some doubts as it differed from that of Silpa Chakrapani. He said that Madhu intentionally stopped his vehicle and when asked to remove the car, started an argument which led to a fight between the supporters. There are pictures and video footages of Madhu opening fire and holding the knife.

An attempt-to-murder case has been registered against Silpa Chakrapani at the Town police station following the complaint by Madhu.
