Singareni officials demolish open cast residences of the poor

Singareni officials on Sunday went to Yellandu in Bhadradri Kottagudem district to the JK5 Open cast residences and with the assistance of police and MRO started to demolish the houses with JC Bamford excavators.

The poor residents were shocked and feared for their lives and were also infuriated by the officials for coming on a Sunday to destroy their houses. Immediately Telangana JAC (Joint Action Committee) intervened on behalf of the poor.

They questioned the government’s decision to stop open cast mines when the government came into power and now to throw hundreds of workers on the road to strengthen the contract system.

They demanded the officials to build the four demolished houses.
