Nellore man attacked while seeing relative’s dead body

FollowA man who came to see the dead body of his relative was attacked by his family alleging old conflicts, grievously injuring the man. This incident took place in Juvvelapalem town of Sullurupet mandal in Nellore district on Tuesday.
According to Sakshi news report, Batthaiah from Juvvelapalem village died on Tuesday due to ill health. His brother-in-law Gova Madhavaiah from the same village went to see the dead body. He garlanded the body and while he was returning back he was accosted by the dead man’s son Moddu Subramanyam along with other relatives.
They argued as to why he came there even after past conflicts. The argument escalated leading to a scuffle and Subramanyam along with Karnati Muniraju from Srikalahasti in Chittor district, Muni Prasad, Moddu Sundaraiah and local men attacked Madhavaiah with knives severely injuring him.
The seriously injured Madhavaiah was taken to the local hospital but was shifted to Nellore as his condition was said to be serious. The police registered a case against the culprits after Madhavaiah complained that they attacked him because of old conflicts.
The police are investigating the case.
