Nandyal elections results worry Mudragada

FollowChandrababu Naidu’s TDP won the Nandyal elections by a landslide. The victory has now become a cause for former minister and Kapu reservation agitation leader, Mudragada Padmanabhamis.
With TDP winning the Nandyal, Mudragada is now worried about the outcome of the upcoming Kakinada Municipal Corporation elections.
Mudragada had asked the Kapu community to vote against TDP in Nandyal and Kakinada elections to teach AP CM Chandrababu for not fulfilling his promise towards the Kapu community in giving them Backward Class (BC) reservation.
Though Mudragada is not sure as to how many Kapus in Nandyal responded to his call, after the Nandyal result there does arise a doubt about Balija (Kapu) community voting for TDP.
The Kakinada Municipal Corporation Election for its 48 divisions was held on August 29 after 7 years. But there is a lot of difference between Nandyal and Kakinada.
Nandyal in Rayalaseema is dominated by factionists while Kakinada in East Godavari has predominantly caste politics. Balija community in Nandyal voting for TDP is a possibility or else TDP would not have got such a huge majority.
Kakinada has a different atmosphere when compared to Nandyal as a lot of caste and class politics are played here. Mudragada’s call may have more effect in Kakinada as the Kapu vote bank is nearly 45 thousand votes. Apart from that, Mudragada’s native place Kirlampudi is closer to Kakinada.
So Mudragada’s word technically should have more stand in Kakinada. The Kakinada Municipal Corporation election is also a test for Mudragada on his grip on the Kapu community.
