Minister Ahkila Priya confident about TDPs victory in Nandyal firing Silpa Chakrapani

Bhuma Akhila Priya, Tourism Minister in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government of Andhra Pradesh and daughter of former legislator Bhuma Nagireddy, is confident of TDP’s victory in the Nandyal by-election held on August 23.

Talking to the media after the polling she said that Nandyal people are all for development and that they are all in support of the Bhuma family. Though YCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) tried to bring down the percentage of polling, people turned out in huge numbers and voted for a pro-development government.

She accused YCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy and his brother Silpa Chakrapani Reddy of trying to bully the people despite the code of conduct specified during the election. All the TDP leaders and ministers respected the code and left the constituency, she said.

She alleged Silpa brothers of trying to instigate the people but was hopeful that people would teach them a lesson through the election. She expressed her happiness that there was no hindrance during the election.

She also welcomed the decision of Election Commission to file a case against YCP supremo YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s controversial remarks on CM Chandrababu Naidu.

Counting of votes of Nandyal by-election would commence on August 28.
