Marital discord has often proved fatal. And this man is lucky to have escaped with his head still over his shoulders. Quite literally!
A 35-year-old man was stabbed in his neck on Thursday, September 14, while he was returning from a court hearing in Anantapur district.
The man, Venkataram Prasad, a native of Kovurunagar in Andhragot married to Kalyani six years ago. He is an LIC development officer in Dharmavaram. One month after marriage, the couple had differences and got separated from each other. Later, they approached a court for divorce by mutual consent.
On Thursday, after the court hearing, Prasad was returning to his home at Kovurunagar. When he reached the house of local minister Kaluva Srinivasulu, a three-member gang stabbed him on his neck. The accused then ran away after they heard the police siren. The police, who reached the spot, shifted Prasad to a hospital where the doctors referred him to a hospital in Bengaluru, reported Sakshi News.
Prasad has properties worth Rs 6 crore in Dharmavaram and Hyderabad. He transferred the properties to his brothers to avoid any claim by his wife. He also had disputes with his brothers over the property.
The police suspect the three-member gang to be sent by either his wife or brothers to grab his properties.
