KSRTC bus collides with a cement lorry, kills man and his dreams of marriage

A day of joy turned tragic for a man from Andhra Pradesh after the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus he was travelling in collided with a cement lorry, killing him immediately. The man was on his way to Bengaluru to distribute his wedding card to relatives.

The KSRTC bus collided with the lorry on Monday morning, September 11 on Hindupuram – Kadiri Highway resulting in the death of Prem Nazir Kumar (28) belonging to Chilamakuru in YSR district. Another three were injured.

According to a report on Sakshi, a KSRTC bus was on its way to Bengaluru from Proddutur in YSR district. When the bus reached Muthyala Cheruvu in Kadiri mandal of Anantapur district, a cement lorry hit the bus in full speed.

Prem Nazir sitting in the back seat was crushed and died on the spot. Chaitanya Reddy and Sakuntala from Pulivendula in YSR district and Gangaraju from Vemala were injured and immediately taken to the government hospital. The rural police shifted the body for post-mortem and lodged a case.

Prem Nazir was a native of Chauvarupalli in YSR district but settled in Chilamamkuru due to his job. He was to marry a girl from Pulivendula and the marriage was fixed for September 16. Prem was on his way to personally distribute his wedding cards to his relatives and friends when he met his death in this tragic accident.

The turmeric smeared wedding cards are now marked in blood and his family is devastated.
