In a rather senseless killing, a teenager was mercilessly beaten to death by a group of drunk men for roaming out with friends late in the night.

The victim, identified as 16-year-old Srikanth along with two of his friends Anwar, a mechanic from Undavalli and SK Azu who worked in Cellpoint were on the way to watch his favourite actor Jr. NTR’s new film in Mangalagiri at 1 am on Thursday.

All the three were on a bike, when near the Kunchenapalli National Highway in Tadepalli mandal of Guntur district, they were stopped by four drunk men. The men scolded the boys for being out so late and then started hitting them.

Azu and Anwar fled the scene leaving Srikanth in their merciless hands. According to eyewitnesses,

The four men who were later joined in by another two other men took Srikanth to a wine shop near old toll gate and again thrashed him after drinking. They took him to another two places beat him up and then left him at Abhinandana road fully injured.

The residents saw Srikanth badly injured and admitted him at the Vijayawada Government Hospital after informing the police. The police were not able to gather the details of Srikanth till Thursday afternoon, when his mother came to file a missing complaint.

Tadepalli police have arrested the six men involved in the incident.
