Since the TDP meeting organised by Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu in Nellore recently, political pundits are predicting a political earthquakes of sorts is bound to hit the district.
During a TDP meeting in Nellore, Chandrababu Naidu without taking any names said that “they” were the ones organising the cricket betting in Nellore district.
Who is he really referring to and what is he planning to do “them”? Is what everybody in Andhra wants know.
Since the shocking suicide of a family of three, the police has been on the trail of the Nellore cricket betting racket. One Mallikarjuna, who was addicted to the cricket betting, ended his life along with his wife and child, after he failed to clear the loans he took for betting.
Soon after that the police arrested betting racket kingpin Krishna Singh they collected data and interrogated politicians and others involved in the case.
The investigations found that several of those involved in the betting racket had links to the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party.
Two YSRCP MLAs, Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Nellore Town MLA P Anil Kumar were served notices and questioned on their the links with kingpin Krishna Singh. Police said that they were just called as witnesses in the cricket betting case.
Kotamreddy is known for his good works and earned a name for himself among the people. He himself took initiative in laying the roads with the financial assistance of industrialists and his friends.
Many in Nellore are of the opinion that Chandrababu Naidu was referring to the YSRCP MLAs.
