Chandrababu Naidu planning cabinet reshuffle

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is dissatisfied with the work of six ministers in the state cabinet and is intending to reshuffle the cabinet after Diwali, if sources in Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are to be believed.

The previous shuffle was thought to be the last this season but the chances of another happening very soon after Diwali cannot be disregarded.

The six ministers with whom Chandrababu seems to be dissatisfied include Tekkali MLA Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, Ganta Srinivasa Rao of Bhimili and Bhuma Akhila Priya of Kurnool, while minister Siddha Raghava Rao of Prakasam district may have to pave the way for defected MLA Gottipati Ravi Kumar.

The other two ministers are from BJP, and though Chandrababu doesn’t have the power to sack them, he is very dissatisfied with their work. Health minister Kamineni Srinivasa Rao has failed in his portfolio and though he is an ardent fan of Chandrababu, he may have to be sacrificed for the 2019 elections.

Another BJP minister, Pydikondala Manikyala Rao has no proper relations with either the CM or the officials but only the Centre can take a decision regarding him.

There is no clarity as to who would be given the portfolios as there was a lot of anger and agitation among TDP leaders after the previous reshuffle. Bonda Uma, Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, Bucchaiah Choudhary, Gouthu Syam Sundara Sivaji, Kagitha Venkat Rao, Anitha and many others rebelled against the party chief for not getting a minister portfolio in the previous reshuffle.

So this Cabinet reshuffle needs to be handled with care as this would be the last before the 2019 elections and dissatisfied leaders have a tendency to jump parties.
