TDP leader and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu after winning the Nandyal by-elections took a dig at Jagan and when on to compare him with Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

Speaking to the media in Amaravathi said: “Jagan has a destructive criminal mindset like Dera baba.”

He alleged Jagan of vulgar behaviour, intimidating others and usage of foul language not befitting a political leader. He said a leader should be exemplary in behaviour and in his 40 years of political life he has never seen any leader stooping so low.

He said the state government was successful in providing welfare schemes and development and that was the main cause of their credibility which led to this victory.

He said it is mandatory and ethical to unanimously elect the same party candidate when a sitting MLA dies and he was the one who started the tradition. But YSRCP contested a candidate and faced defeat from the people.

“Never a leader spent 14 days in one place campaigning for elections and in spite of everything YSRCP faced defeat. People know that development is only possible with TDP and so people voted for development,” he said.

He was confident after his Nandyal victory and said that this would continue in Kakinada Corporation election and 2019 General elections.

Nandyal by-election was won by TDP candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy against YSRCP’s Silpa Mohan Reddy with a margin of 27000 votes.
