Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former central minister Daggubati Purandeswari plans to tour Rayalaseema area to study drought condition in the district.

Purandeswari told media that Andhra Pradesh government has done nothing to save Rayalaseema from drought. The BJP, who is visiting the district for the second time has promised raise the issue with the Centre.

She said that this tour is her personal study of the drought condition in Rayalaseema. She went on a similar tour two years ago but none is aware of the results of her study. She promised to submit a report to the Centre but none is sure if she submitted or not.

She is coming on a similar tour to study the projects, availability of water and water distribution in Rayalaseema. She questioned the government why it is not giving water to Rayalaseema from Srisailam since 80 TMCs of water is being diverted to Krishna Delta to Pattiseema.
