Bengaluru: Violence erupts over social media post on Prophet Muhammad

Bengaluru: Violence erupted in DJ Halli area of Karnataka's Bengaluru over a social media post on prophet Muhammad. According to sources, a family member of a Congress MLA uploaded a derogatory post about Prophet Muhammad.

MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy's nephew claimed that he is innocent and that his account was hacked. A group of people have gathered outside the legislator's house and burnt vehicles parked outside the house.

Reacting to the incident, Karnataka home minister said, "Issue to be probed but vandalism is not the solution. Additional forces deployed. Action will be taken against miscreants."
