'Ekta Marathon' in Bengaluru to commemorate Sardar Patel's birth anniversary

Bengaluru: As many as 3000 persons, including police officials, participated at the Ekta Marathon to commemorate the 144th birth anniversary of late Sardar Patel, the then Union home minister who played a significant role in uniting the Princely States into the Indian Union. He is described as the Iron Man of India.

Karnataka home minister Basavaraj Bommai flagged of the marathon from the grand steps of Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru.

Haveri MP Shivakumar C Udasi, director general and inspector general of police Neelmani N Raju, commissioner of police for Bengaluru City Bhaskar Rao, joint commissioner of police (traffic) BR Ravikanthe Gowda were present at the event.
