Government, bureaucracy and the citizenry have let down children, their rights: Social worker Brinda Adige (Video)

Brinda Adige, social worker said that recent order given by the Supreme Court about observing shelter homes is a matter of concern. The apex court  has sought such action following incidents of ill-treatment to children in shelter homes. Children are let down by the government, bureaucracy and the citizenry. So government should be held responsible and the citizens want to know what are the steps taken by the administration for the safety of children. Government should audit shelter homes and make them better and safe for children. Are shelter homes actually giving quality service? Even when a case of child abuse goes to court, no punitive action is taken against the perpetrator.
