Instead of risking a crash into residential areas, the pilot aimed for the open lanes of Bayshore Road, steering clear of power lines to bring the plane down safely. Though the plane hit a mini-truck’s rearview mirror and side bed during the landing sequence, the impact was minor enough that the pilot was able to pull off the shoulder safely.
Despite the plane making a rough landing and clipping the vehicle, emergency officials confirmed that there were zero injuries reported at the scene. Both the pilot and passenger walked away unharmed, while the driver of the pickup truck escaped without a scratch.
