Telugu doctor stabbed in Kansas; Police yet to find reason behind murder

In a brutal murder mystery that surfaced in Kansas, USA, a doctor from Nalgonda, Telangana was stabbed to death at East Wichita in Kansas City. While the incident happened on Wednesday evening, police is yet to find out the motive behind the murder. According to police reports, the doctor was stabbed at around 7:30 pm local time at his holistic clinic in 625 N Carriage Parkway, near Central and Edgemoor in Wichita in Kansas.

A 21-year-old man, identified as Umar Rashid Dutt is the prime suspect in the crime. Wichita Police has confirmed that Reddy has died of stabbing at around 7:00 pm on Wednesday. Eyewitnesses said that they saw the victim and the suspect going to the clinic together. The manager also supported the evidence saying that she heard some disturbances in the office and found the accused assaulting the doctor. She also confirmed that Reddy tried to leave but the accused followed him to the office alley and stabbed him numerous times.

Following this, a security man called the police at around 7:40 pm when he saw a man sitting in his car with blood splattered all over him. Police is yet to determine why the man drove to the clinic and assaulted the doctor.

Reddy had completed his education from the Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad in 1986. Following which, he moved to the US and completed his residency in psychiatry from the University of Kansas Medical School in Wichita. He had been practicing as a psychiatrist here since 1989. The medical community there has mourned and has offered touching tributes to the doctor. They remember him as a good and caring doctor and a man who never had a bad word for anyone. He also was remembered as a doctor who connected almost instantly with his patients. 

He was running the Holistic Psychiatric Clinic in Wichita, apart from being a consultant in various hospitals in the region. He is survived by his wife Beena Reddy, parents Bhadra and Parijata Reddy and three children Radha, Laxmi and Vishnu. Kansas is the same place where just a few months ago Srinivas Kuchibhotla, an engineer from Andhra was gunned down in a racial attack.
