Pakistani man beheads wife for not quitting job body first discovered by the couples 3 children

Few may call it honour killing, but the incident sent down chills down the spine, given the brutality and inhumanity it involved. A man in Pakistan reportedly beheaded his wife with a chopper knife for not quitting her job, despite his demands. Her body, incidentally, was first discovered by the couple's three children and the neighbours on Sunday, August 6.

The incident took place in a small locality called Manga Mandi, which is 40 kms from Lahore, Pakistan's second most-populous city.

According to media reports, the man, Afraheem murdered his 37-year old wife during the weekend when she came back from work, without listening to his demands. She was a worker at a nearby factory.

The couple's children told the police that their father locked the room when Nasreen was asleep and chopped her head off. When neighbours entered the house, they found her severed head. While police is investigating the case, they have also launched a manhunt for the accused who is on the run. Saddar Division Superintendent of Police Maher Mumtaz, speaking to the media, said that preliminary reports suggested that this was a case of honour killing.
