Faulty streetlights near BBMP head office premises; motorists, public worried about safety

Bengaluru: Forget lighting up the city’s roads and keeping the  public safe, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has not addressed the faulty streetlights right opposite to its head office near Corporation in Bengaluru.

The mast light and street light near the traffic signal opposite to the BBMP head office gate has been unattended from the last few weeks despite the mayor and BBMP commissioner offices being there.

Many motorists and public fear for life as road repair work is going on near the indoor stadium and with no lights, many women fear for their safety.

After the matter was raised with the BBMP engineer-in-chief, he assured action. He said only in case of LED lighting it will take time to fix and in case of streetlights and mast light, the bulbs will be replaced by getting the engineers concerned to attend to the issue.
