After imposing penalties, BBMP to turn black spots in Bengaluru into eye candy

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike identified a few black spots in the Shanthinagar and Ejipura area and planted tree saplings to get rid of the vile image it projected. This beautification process will be continuous as per the special commissioner of the BBMP, who said marshals and officials will be watching out for people dirtying the place and will impose a penalty.

Smelly stinking black spots now have been replaced with tree saplings and flowerpots and in some areas, previously encroached areas have been turned into a footpath, thanks to the sincere efforts of BBMP's Solid Waste Management Department.

By roping in marshals and with instructions to junior health inspectors to identify at least three such spots and convert them into bearable conditions, the BBMP has seen results.

The beautification process and getting rid of black spots will be a continuous one, according to BBMP Solid Waste Management special commissioner Randeep D.
