The Bengaluru Police on Wednesday said they were collecting evidence against Hitesha Chandranee, the woman who was booked on Monday in a counter-complaint by a Zomato staffer, The Indian Express reported.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Joshi Srinath Mahadev was quoted by The Indian Express saying, “A notice will be issued to the woman after the team probing the case is done collecting evidence. She will be summoned for questioning only after that.”

After facing flak from netizens and a police complaint registered against her for attacking, abusing and falsely accusing Zomato delivery agent of attacking her, UP-based beauty influencer Hitesha Chandranee fled Bengaluru.

While the police were yet to give an official statement on whether Chandranee had left the city, Anil Kumar, an inspector at the Electronic City police station told The News Minute that nobody answered the door when they went to her house.

“She feels afraid staying here as people might come to her home to speak with her about the complaint,” another unidentified police official told The News Minute. “We heard from her that she will contact the police today and will give a statement. She might not have left the city to abscond from the police and might contact us.”

The woman, Hitesha Chandranee, a city-based model and makeup artist, had taken to Twitter air her woes, and tagged the city police. The police then asked her to provide the area details to assist her further.

However, the accused alleged that it was Chandranee who attacked him first and he retaliated. The woman said that she suffered a nasal bone fracture. She added, "I was given high power antibiotics and painkillers because of which I am able to talk. I am unable to talk. My eyes water and my nose bleeds as soon as I start talking. "
