Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) chief commissioner Gaurav Gupta is the latest victim of hacking as his official Twitter account gets hacked.

The hackers on the handle left their trademark as TESLA on the commissioner's official page.

The incident comes at a time when BBMP is effectively managing the Covid and use of social media and Twitter to communicate and also share details as a major source of communication for Palike which is spread over 800 sq kms in Bengaluru.

When Asianet Newsable reached out to commissioner Gaurav Gupta to inform him about his account status, he said," Yes I know. Remedial action is being taken up."

BBMP commissioner's official account is most active and all details from follow up on lockdown, daily Covid cases, deaths, war room status and every measure that Palike takes up is tweeted to inform about the development in public domain.

On June 3, the BBMP reported 3,533 new positive cases and reported 347 deaths and 7,672 patients were discharged after recovery. Immediately after this information with more details were shared on his handle, the miscreants seem to have hacked the account as till 12:30 pm on Friday the account remained status quo and there were no updates.
