The move comes after Prakash Kumar Singh, the director for government and regulatory affairs at the Pune-based firm wrote to the MHA on April 16, seeking sought security for Poonawalla.
The letter claimed that Poonawalla was getting threats from various groups in connection with COVID-19 vaccine supplies.
