In West Bengal Three crude bombs were hurled outside the house of BJP MP Arjun Singh ‘Majdoor Bhavan’ at Jagatdal in Bengal's North 24 Parganas district.

Sources informed that the leader was not home during the time of attack and despite security presence, bombs were hurled in the morning around 6 am. No injuries were reported.

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar condemned the bomb explosion incident and questioned the law and order situation in the state. Dhankhar went on to say that this is not the first time that there has been a bombing in front of the BJP MP’s house.

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar said the violence outside the parliamentarian’s residence revealed there was no sign of wanton violence abating in Bengal. “Bomb explosions outside the residence of Member of Parliament Arjun Singh this morning is worrisome,” he wrote on Twitter.

Also, according to an NDTV report, Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh said the assailants may have affiliations with the ruling Trinamool Congress.

As per the media reports, the MP was not present in his house when the explosion happened, he was apparently in Delhi.

More details are awaited on the matter as the investigation is currently underway.

Singh said on Twitter that Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to him after the explosions and inquired about his well-being. “I do not expect the West Bengal Police to conduct an impartial probe,” he said. “The National Investigation Agency should be asked to investigate the matter and find the culprits.”

In October 2020, Singh’s close associate Manish Shukla was shot dead in the Titagarh area of the North 24 Parganas district, according to The Indian Express.
