Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reviewed the Ayodhya Development plan, during which he described Ayodhya as a city that is etched in the cultural consciousness of every Indian.
 
Government sources said that the Prime Minister wanted Ayodhya to manifest the finest of Indian traditions and the best of its developmental transformations. 

In his virtual meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his two deputy chief ministers, the Prime Minister said that the human ethos of Ayodhya must be matched by futuristic infrastructure, which is beneficial for everyone, including tourists and pilgrims. 

According to government sources, the Prime Minister terming Ayodhya as both spiritual and sublime. He further said that the coming generations should feel the desire to visit Ayodhya at least once in their lifetime. 

The meeting reviewed the progress of the 1200-acre Vedic city and the '84 Kos Parikrama' route development blueprint. The 84 'Kos Parikrama' comprises a nearly 300-km-long pilgrimage, a route which devotees take around 45 days to cover bare-footed to pay obeisance at vital places linked with Lord Krishna.

It is our collective endeavour to celebrate the identity of Ayodhya and keep its cultural vibrancy alive through innovative ways, the prime minister said, adding that the development works of Ayodhya should be guided by a spirit of healthy public participation, especially by the youth. 

Asserting that Lord Ram had the ability to bring people together, PM Modi called for the skills of our talented youngsters to be leveraged in this development of the city.

The Ayodhya Development Project is aimed at generating employment opportunities in Ayodhya, branding local goods and promoting tourism activities.
