Dumping the Union Government's new proposal of putting on hold the implementation of controversial farm laws, farmer leaders will take out a tractor rally in Bengaluru to mar the Republic Day event at Parade Ground.

Addressing reporters, Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha leader Kodihalli Chandrashekhar said they (farmers) will go ahead with the tractor rally in Bengaluru on Republic Day just to send a message to their counterparts in Delhi that Karnataka farmers stand with them in solidarity.

Referring to Karnataka's new anti-cow slaughter law, he said that the state government is also harassing farmers through the new law.

To humiliate the government and paint CM BS Yediurappa-led BJP government in state and PM Narendra Modi led BJP government as anti-farmers and pro capitalists, Chandrashekhar sad immediately after the CM address on Republic Day event, rally from various main roads will start and will culminate at Freedom Park.

As per reports, from each district at least 2,000 farmers will take part in protest rally in Bengaluru and apart from tractors, bullock carts and other vehicles will also follow.
