Toolkit case: Delhi court adjourns Nikita Jacob's anticipatory bail plea hearing to March 9

Additional Sessions Judge Dharmender Rana adjourned the hearing after noting the submissions made by the Additional Public Prosecutor, Irfan Ahmed that time was needed to file a reply in the matter.

New Delhi: The Delhi court on Tuesday gave time to police to file a response on social activist and lawyer Nikita Jacob's plea seeking anticipatory bail in the toolkit case. The matter will be heard on March 9 along with Pune-based engineer Shantanu Muluk's plea who was also arrested by Delhi police with Jacob.

Additional Sessions Judge Dharmender Rana adjourned the hearing after noting the submissions made by the Additional Public Prosecutor, Irfan Ahmed that time was needed to file a reply in the matter.

Senior advocate Rebecca John appeared on behalf of accused Nikita Jacob.  

Nikita Jacob, accused in a case registered by Delhi police in connection with the "toolkit" shared by climate activist Greta Thunberg over farmers' protest, had approached the Bombay High Court on Monday seeking transit anticipatory bail.

She admitted that there was a Zoom meeting before Republic Day, which was attended by Poetic Justice Foundation founder MO Dhaliwal, and other fellow activists including Disha Ravi.

Ravi was granted bail to Ravi by the court on February 23. The 21-year-old activist, Disha was arrested from Bengaluru in connection with the formulation and dissemination of the 'toolkit' document.
