Tamil Nadu announces night curfew, complete lockdown on Sundays, check details
The Tamil Nadu government has also banned inter- and intra-state travel during the night curfew.
Chennai: In the wake of increasing Covid-19 cases, Tamil Nadu government has announced a partial lockdown between 10 pm and 4 am and full lockdown on Sundays.
The state government has also postponed the class 12 board exams amid a surge in Covid-19 cases, however, the practical exams will be conducted as already planned.
The state government has said that there will be a ban on inter-state and intra-state travel during the night curfew.
· During night curfew hours public buses, rental auto, taxi, and private vehicles will not be allowed to operate.
· Restaurants would be permitted to operate only for take-away services at three scheduled time slots throughout the day from 6am to 10 am in the mornings, between 12pm to 3pm in the afternoon, and from 6pm to 9 pm in the evenings.
· Food delivery services like Swiggy and Zomato have permission to operate during the fixed hours.
· IT and ITES companies must function with 50% employees, while the rest would be working from home.
· Shopping malls, eateries, vegetable and fruit shops, textile and jewellery showrooms, among other commercial establishments must allow 50 per cent customers only till 9.00 pm.
· Media, petrol pumps, industries having continuous processes and involved in the manufacture of essential commodities exempted from the purview of the night curfew
