Supreme Court collegium recommends new Chief Justices for 13 High Courts by transfer or elevation
Eight names of CJs have been recommended to the Centre including acting Calcutta High Court CJ, Justice Rajesh Bindal, for elevation and transfer of five sitting CJs to other high courts.
The Supreme Court collegium headed by CJI N V Ramana has recommended that thirteen high courts in the country will get new Chief Justices (CJs).
Eight names of CJs have been recommended to the Centre including acting Calcutta High Court CJ, Justice Rajesh Bindal, for elevation and transfer of five sitting CJs to other high courts.
The collegium’s decisions, reported earlier by PTI, were uploaded on the apex court's website on Tuesday.
"The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 16th September 2021 has recommended elevation of Judges as Chief Justices of the High Courts, as mentioned...," the apex court's statement said.

Justice Rajesh Bindal – Allahabad
Justice Akil Kureshi – Rajasthan
Justice Prakash Shrivastava – Calcutta
Justice Satish Chandra Sharma – Telangana
Justice Ranjit V More – Meghalaya
Justice PK Mishra - Andhra Pradesh
Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi – Karnataka
Justice Aravind Kumar – Gujarat
Justice RV Malimath - Madhya Pradesh
Chief Justices recommended for transfer to other High Court are:
Justice Indrajit Mahanty - Rajasthan to Tripura
Justice Arup Kumar Goswami - Andhra Pradesh to Chhattisgarh
Justice Mohammad Rafiq - Madhya Pradesh to Himachal Pradesh
Justice Biswanath Somadder - Meghalaya to Sikkim
Justice Akil Kureshi - Tripura to Rajasthan
