Students move SC seeking CBSE Class 12 compartment exam cancellation
The petitions wanted the performance of Class 12 private and compartment students to be evaluated using the mechanism in line with the assessment formula adopted by the Board for regular students.
FollowAs many as 1,152 Class 12 students have filed a petition before the Supreme Court, seeking directions to the Central Board for Secondary Education to cancel the CBSE Class 12 compartment exams.Â
Seeking fair and equal treatment with regular students, the petition by private and compartment students submitted that any rescheduling of examinations until a conducive time would cost them the opportunity to apply and seek admission in these Universities and Colleges.

The petitions sought to direct the CBSE to allow Class 10 and 12 private and compartment students to submit their objections within a reasonable period of time, in case they are not satisfied with the results so published.
Citing a violation of the right to life and health, the students also claimed that the decision to conduct Class 12 private and compartment examination would endanger the lives of lakhs of students.
