Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu, arrested in connection to the violence that took place at Red Fort on January 26 during the farmers' tractor rally, has been granted bail.

Tis Hazari Court Additional Sessions Judge Nilofer Abeeda Parveen warned Sidhu against influencing or intimidating witnesses or tamper with evidence while granting him bail.

The bail was granted with two local sureties for Rs 30,000 each.

Sidhu has been directed to deposit his passport with the Investigating Officer and ensure that the phone number given by him to the Officer is switched on throughout with location activated.

Further, Sidhu will have to appear before the trial court on every date of hearing.

Sidhu was arrested on February 9 on charges of destruction of public property. He was also booked under the arms act.

According to the prosecution, Sidhu was the main conspirator behind the violence at Red Fort.

The prosecution also alleged that Sidhu's wanted to create violence and disregard the national flag.

However, the actor claimed that he was not even present at the Red Fort when the violence took place.
