Puducherry CM Narayansamy faces floor test on February 22
The Congress government in the Union Territory slipped into a minority when four Congress legislators resigned from the party. Another Congress MLA had been disqualified earlier.
Puducherry's new Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has called for a floor test on February 22 for V Narayansamy's government.
The Puducherry Lt Governor noted that a floor test in the 30-member legislative assembly has been necessitated since the ruling coalition and Opposition have a strength of 14 members each in the assembly.
In order to see who achieves the magic number of 16, voting shall take place by show of hands and all proceedings will be videographed.

The floor tests announcement comes just hours after Soundararajan took oath as Lt Governor replacing Kiran Bedi.
It may be noted that the legislative assembly elections are likely to take place in April-May.
