In a new development in politics, political strategist Prashanth Kishore on Friday met Nationalist Congress Party chief Prashanth Kishore over a marathon three-hour lunch.

The meeting which Kishore and also Pawar's family described as a 'goodwill gesture, thanksgiving, courtesy and just bonding over lunch following the recent poll success in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, sources say it is 'more than that'.

The 3-hour long meet is said to be not only based on recent success in Bengal and Tamil Nadu but also an alternative to BJP in 2024 in the general election.

The meeting also gained significance on Thursday, it was Nationalist Congress Party's 22nd year foundation day after breaking away from Congress.

As per reports NCP leader and Minister in the Maharashtra Cabinet, Nawab Malik was saying,"When Pawar and Kishor are meeting, discussion on national and state politics is inevitable."

It is believed that top leaders including Pawar are stitching a partnership with like-minded parties to take on BJP in 2024.

While Deputy CM and NCP leader Ajit Pawar dismissed the idea of roping in Kishore ahead of the state Assembly election to help NCP strengthen as the strategist himself has announced that West Bengal will be his last assignment, some leaders feel that Kishore's role as a strategist might help NCP achieve desired results.

On the issue of Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackrey meeting PM in Delhi, reports say that Pawar was confident of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, the alliance of three parties involving Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP completing the full term as the alliance is 'intact' and in 'good shape'.
