Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reviewed the light house projects across the country via drones.

The light house project was launched on January 1 this year to use new technology to complete housing projects faster while making them more resilient.

Work on six light house projects at different sites is going on, using modern technology.

The project in Indore does not have brick and mortar walls. Instead, it will use a sandwich panel system that is prefabricated.

In Rajkot, the light houses will have monolithic concrete construction technology using tunnels, and the house will be more capable of withstanding disasters.

Canadian technology is being used in Lucknow. This will mean that plaster and paint will not be required and will use the entire walls already prepared to build houses faster.

In Ranchi, houses will be constructed using 3D construction technology from Germany. Every room will be made separately, and then the entire structure will be added.

Light houses in Chennai will see American and Finnish technologies being used. The precast concrete system will construct the houses faster and cheaper.

Houses in Agartala are being built with steel frames using New Zealand's technology so that they can withstand major earthquakes.

Thousands of houses will be built quickly at every location, which will act as incubation centres through which our planners, architects, engineers and students will be able to learn and experiment with new technology.
