PM Modi releases 9th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana scheme

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday released the ninth instalment of financial benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme via video conferencing. 

The cash transfer scheme is likely to benefit about 90 million farmers.
Under this scheme, an annual financial benefit of Rs 6,000 is provided to eligible beneficiary farmer families, payable in three equal four-monthly installments of Rs 2000 each.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office’s official release, this will enable the transfer of an amount of more than Rs 19,500 crores to more than 9.75 crores beneficiary farmer families. 

After releasing the fund, the Prime Minister interacted  with farmer-beneficiaries during the event and also addressed the nation.
PM-Kisan is a central sector scheme with 100 per cent funding from the Government of India. The scheme was launched in December 2018. 

The state governments and Union Territory administration identify the farmers who are eligible for the scheme and share the list with the Centre. The central government then directly transfers the fund to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. 

All landholding farmers’ families, which have cultivable landholding in their names are eligible to get benefit under the scheme

How to check PM-Kisan installment?

Step 1: Go to the official website of the government –https://pmkisan.gov.in/
Step 2: Search for ‘Farmer’s Corner Section on the homepage and select the ‘Beneficiary Status’ option. 
Step 3: Now either enter your Aadhar Number or Account Number or Mobile Number.
Step 4: Click on the ‘Get data’
