Veteran Congress leader Motilal Vora died on Monday at the age of 93 from post-Covid complications.

PM Narendra Modi condoled the death of the senior Congress leader.

"Motilal Vora Ji was among the senior-most Congress leaders, who had vast administrative and organisational experience in a political career that spanned decades", tweeted PMO quoting PM Modi.

A day after celebrating his birthday, Vora breathed his last at Fortis Escort Hospital in the national capital.

Vora was detected with Covid-19 in October but recovered and got discharged on October 16. Later, he was admitted to escorts on December 19 after he complained of breathlessness.

A trusted Gandhi family loyalist, Vora had served several terms as a Rajya Sabha member and was also a former Governor of Uttar Pradesh. He also served as Union Minister of Health, Family Welfare and Civil Aviation in the Congress regime at the centre.

A number of Congress leaders had tested positive for coronavirus in the recent past. After Tarun Gogoi and Ahmed Patel, he is the third senior Congress leader to die in the last two months.
