PM Modi in Kedarnath: 'Voice within told me, it would be redeveloped again'

According to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambition is to make Devbhoomi the world's spiritual and cultural capital, where people from all over the world come to seek peace.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday visited Kedarnath in Uttarakhand where he performed prayers at the Kedarnath shrine. The renovation of Kedarpuri is regarded as the prime minister's dream project, and he checks its progress at regular intervals. He performed 'Rudra Abhishek' at the Kedarnath temple.  According to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambition is to make Devbhoomi the world's spiritual and cultural capital, where people from all over the world come to seek peace. He delivered prayers at Kedarnath's Shiva temple and unveiled a 12-foot statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya at the seer's restored samadhi. Work on the Shankaracharya statue, which weighs around 35 tonnes, began in 2019.

Addressing the public, PM Modi said they are present to witness the opening of Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi. His disciples are present in spirit here. He further added that all mathematics and 'jyotirlingas' in the country are linked with us. The prime minister said after 2013 destruction, people used to think if Kedarnath could be redeveloped, but a voice within him told him that it would be redeveloped again. He has regularly reviewed redevelopment works at Kedarnath from Delhi. He further went on to thank all 'rawals' for their guidance for these works.

While unveiling a 12-foot statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya and inaugurating several redevelopment projects at Kedarnath in Uttarakhand, PM Modi said he is grateful to all who inspired him to establish this project towards the path of progress in the land of 'Baba Kedar'.  He added various temples, Jyotirlingas, Shakti Dhams, Munis and devotees across the country have devoured their blessings and faith in this new development project and have joined me virtually to be a part of this ceremonious event.

The leader further said that spirituality and religion were believed to be associated only with stereotypes. However, Indian philosophy talks about human welfare and holistically sees life. He added Adi Shankaracharya worked to make society aware of this truth. Speaking about the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the leader said deepotsav was celebrated there and work on the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project in Varanasi is also progressing rapidly. He added, the country aims high and also sets a time limit to achieve these aims.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched redevelopment projects in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand, totalling Rs 130 crore. Saraswati Retaining Wall Aasthapath and Ghat, Mandakini Retaining Wall Aasthapath, Tirth Purohit Houses, and Garud Chatti bridge on the Mandakini River are among these constructions.
