If you are planning to head to Nandi Hills this New Year, it's better to change plans as the authorities have decided to close tourism from December 30 to January 1, 2021.

The decision was taken following the Deputy Commissioner's order due to the Covid-19 pandemic scare looming large.

"As people come in large numbers and over 40,000 will gather during December 31 and January 1 every season, the same was expected and this gathering will not be good during the pandemic as there are chances of spread of infection, hence we will close the hill station from December 30 to till January 1st." an official said.

Meanwhile, the police department has also indicated that all the important junctions will be watched, flyovers will be closed. City's exit and entry points will be barricaded and every vehicle will be checked.

Resorts and homestays in other areas have been given standing instructions from the Home Minister that this time there will not be any DJ parties due to the pandemic situation. And has left the decision on restaurants and pubs in the City to Bengaluru Commissionerates.
