Even as the Maharashtra government-Republic TV faceoff continues, a similar situation seems to be playing out in Odisha.

Trading allegations are Odisha TV or OTV, which is run by BJP leader Baijayant Panda's wife Jagi Mangat Panda, and the Biju Janata Dal government of Naveen Patnaik.

According to OTV, the Odisha police has registered about 20 cases against the channel, its sister companies and family members of Panda.

OTV claims that it is being hounded for exposing the "widespread corruption in Odisha, including in Covid-19 funds" and ever since Jay Panda switches from BJD to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Seeking a probe by a 'neutral national agency', the channel alleged that out of the five employees who were recently arrested in the middle of the night, two had been 'intimidated and compelled to resign while in custody'.
