IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri who after officially handing over the charges and wishing the newly appointed DC Bagadi Gautham, lashed out at Mysuru MP Pratap Simha without naming him.

The IAS officer speaking to the media said, “There was so much interference by someone, still, I worked without bothering much. I am  workingq with factual information, there was no problem from the last 7 months. Only in the last 15 days it (her actions) has become an issue and the reason you all know. I don't have to be specific now. Wherever I take strict action, be it on the medical side, land deal (encroachment mafia) and this issue (targeting) happens, it is painful. We should be allowed to work freely and every now and then if one keeps asking things (referring to MP Pratap Simha's Covid expenses details), I also gave (details) whatever was possible from my side." the officer told the media persons.

The officer mentioned that she served about 8 months in Mysuru and previously worked in Hassana, Mandya, Tumakuru and Mangaluru. Referring to Mahatma Gandhiji's ideals said, 'My Life Is My Message' and told that she believes in this and let her work talk. The officer is said to have become the target for reportedly laying her hands on the land mafia.

"Government land encroachment is there in all the places.Be it lakes, government lands. There is one committee at state-level monitoring. High Court also has spoken about it recently. It depends on who takes action against this. To a certain extent, there is some amount of illegality. The impact of the action will be shown on the officer dealing with it. I am an officer, bureaucrat, I can talk only to a certain extent." the officer told the media.

The officer mentioned that she came with a focus to improve tourism and clear lake encroachment. She mentioned Kurubarahalli SyNo 4 where 1,500 acres of land encroached, has approached the SC and hired a government lawyer and also started to work on this immediately she took charge as DC. She said all these lakes should be protected as this is a heritage City.

Before concluding she said that she came to greet the new DC and also brief about the District's position and the work done during Covid. "After my transfer yesterday, lot of people have shown love and respect. I would like to express my gratitude. I get a feeling of staying at 'my mother's home', they have treated me like their own daughter. This happened suddenly (transfer). I did good work here and while working honestly, I was transferred." a visibly upset Sindhuri said.

Reaction on Shilpa Nag' 'Misson accomplished note:

The officer reportedly said that she feels sad and alleged that an officer colluded with a few elected representatives amidst Covid and targeted her who was also in charge for Mysuru's disaster management.

"What has happened and how it happened is before everyone.. I will not give any reaction. I feel pity at her insecurity. To get an officer removed and to say mission accomplished is wrong. Because development like this happens in any district or at any department, it becomes a system." Sindhuri rued.

When asked whether she became a victim of land mafia, and did she feel bad for not being able to implement her ideas, said "No comments' and 'Thank You Mysuru"
