Modi also lauded the spirit and courage of Indian citizens who braved two major cyclones in this month. “In this difficult and extraordinary situation of calamity, the way the people of all the states affected by the cyclone have shown courage, in this hour of crisis, with great patience, discipline — I want to appreciate all citizens,” he added.

“My dear countrymen, however big the challenge is, India’s resolve to face it has always been greater. The collective strength of the country and our spirit of service have brought India out of all storms,” PM Narendra Modi said during the 77th episode of Mann Ki Baat on Sunday.

PM Modi also praised people of the coastal states affected by the two cyclones that recently hit India and said they showed courage, patience and discipline.

PM Modi also addressed the completion of 7 years of the BJP-led NDA Government in India and shared the progress that the nation had made under its tenure.

"This is because we worked as a nation as Team India instead of working as a political party. So many villages and people received electricity, water, and proper roads, and their own houses for the first time since 70 years of independence," he said.

"Over the last 7 years India has also led the world in digitization and digital payments have come to great use amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Even big nations have not escaped from the pandemic but during this health crisis India undertook the pledge of 'Service and Cooperation' to help other nations," said PM Modi on Mann Ki Baat live.

PM Modi interacted with frontline workers who were at the forefront in meeting Oxygen supplies during the second wave of Covid-19. He said that production of medical oxygen has increased by 10 times as the country is producing 9500 Metric Tonnes daily. He also said that from a few hundred tests conducted in a day during the onset of pandemic, India is now conducting more than 20 lakh tests in a single day.
