Hathras: Daughter appeals for justice, as father is killed over filing a police complaint

FollowIn a shocking incident in the Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh, a 50-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by the person against whom the victim had lodged a molestation case in 2018.
A gut-wrenching video of the victim's daughter is now doing the rounds on social media where she is heard appealing for justice.
In the video, she claims that the accused, Gaurav Sharma had shot her father in the chest and back after an argument over the 2018 case of molestation.
According to the Hathras police, the victim's daughters had gone to offer prayers at a temple in the Naujarpur locality where they got into an argument with Gaurav's wife and aunt. The confrontation took a violent turn when Gaurav and the victim intervened. It was then that the victim was shot fatally.

Even as UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the police to take strict action against the accused, the Congress party targeted him over the rising instances of crimes against women in the state.
