Maharashtra's power department will not use any Chinese equipment from now, Maharashtra Power Minister Nitin Raut informed on Wednesday.

Hours after tabling the report of Maharashtra Cyber Cell on the Mumbai power outage on October 12 last year, in the state assembly, Maharashtra Power Minister said that the SCADA unit which balances load dispatch as per supply and demand showed the entry of eight Trojan horse malware from China, United Kingdom and other places.

The eight Trojan horse malware broke through the firewall and stole 8 GB of data, Nitin Raut said.

Raut said that he had hinted at the sabotage angle behind the backout that hit the financial capital, and that the report of the state cyber police department had confirmed his fears.
