To boost the confidence among villages and also bring down the Covid cases, the Maharashtra government has now decided to give cash rewards from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 50 lakh . In a major development in Maharashtra to deal with the Covic control program, the government has announced a Covid control competition where villages will be rewarded Rs 15 lakh to Rs 50 lakh to bring down the positive cases in the record number of days.
The prizes are categorized into three segments like first, second and third. "From each revenue zone, three villages will be selected based on the performance and besides the reward, an amount additional with the same prize value will be given as a motivational factor to take the fight ahead against the Covid," Rural Development Minister, Hassan Mushrif was quoted as saying in a report.
There will be a committee that will rate the villages based on the 22 criterias in the competition and based on the committee report, 18 villages will be rewarded.
