With 66 people in Kerala kept under isolation and observation for the deadly Nipah virus results at government medical college, the neighbouring states Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have made advance preparation and are taking precautions to prevent the spread into their respective bordering districts with Kerala.

While the Karnataka government has already made it mandatory for one-week isolation and also RT-PCR test certificate to move freely as Covid protocol, has also intensified checking on bordering Dakshina Kannada, Chamarajanagar, Mysuru, Kodagu and Udupi district now due to Nipah virus scare.

Looking for these symptoms:

The Karnataka government has already sought a report on Nipah virus behaviour and its impact from the Kerala government. Meanwhile, the government has asked the officials to look for symptoms like fever, headache, body pain, vomit, diarrhoea, weakness and others during the one-week quarantine of Kerala bound travelers and subject them for further tests.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu's northern region Madurai which is close to Kerala has already set up an exclusive ward to admit and treat only Nipah cases. The state so far is safe as no Nipah infected person from Kerala has managed to enter due to effective checking at Tamil Nadu-Kerala border.

Sigh of relief as 100 samples test negative:

The state which is ravaged due to Covid complications can breathe a sigh of relief as the new disease Nipah which is basically zoonotic virus and also spreads among humans through infected food has come as negative.

The state through contact tracing mechanism managed to find 108 people including some from high-risk areas and all the results have come negative.
