Kashmir: Terrorists open fire on police at Srinagar, two cops martyred
The security forces immediately cordoned off the area and a further search is underway. Police have also undertaken a combing operation.
FollowSrinagar: A group of unidentified terrorists attacked a police party in Barzulla area of Srinagar in Kashmir on Friday morning in which two police personnel died after suffering bullet injuries.
“The two policemen were rushed to a hospital after they sustained bullet injuries, but later they were declared dead. The area in Srinagar has been cordoned off,” said Kashmir Zone Police.
The security forces immediately cordoned off the area and a further search is underway. Police have also undertaken a combing operation.
This is the second such attack at the heart of Srinagar city by terrorists. Earlier this week, the son of the owner of popular eatery - Krishna Dhaba was shot at by terrorists. The attack took place at a time when a group of foreign envoys was on a visit to Srinagar to assess the ground realities in Kashmir in light of the abrogation of Article 370.
