Bengaluru: Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda said today he and his wife had tested positive for Covid-19 and were self-isolating.

"My wife Chennamma and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We are self-isolating along with other family members. I request all those who came in contact with us over the last few days to get themselves tested. I request party workers and well-wishers not to panic," Deve Gowda, tweeted.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday rang up JD(S) national president HD Deve Gowda and offered to arrange for treatment at any hospital of his choice in any city for Covid-19.

Gowda, in a tweet, thanked Modi for calling him up and enquiring about his health. He said he was deeply moved by the PM's offer, and conveyed to the PM that he was being looked after well in Bengaluru.
