Karnataka farmers all set to seal state highways connecting to Bengaluru; watch out for traffic jam
Following a call given by their counterparts in Delhi to seal highways, Karnataka farmers are all set to seal the National as well as State Highways. Motorists traveling specially towards Bengaluru will surely be hit between 12 pm to 3 pm.
Extending support to farmers protesting in Delhi to repeal the three controversial farm laws, Karnataka farmers are all set to seal all the highways.
The National Highway connecting Bengaluru- Chennai, Bengaluru- Hyderabad, Karnataka-Goa and State Highway connecting Bengaluru-Mysuru and others will be sealed between 12 pm to 3 pm to make the government feel the heat of the protest.
As a symbol of support, Karnataka farmers' leader Kodihalli Chandrasekhar along with 200 state farmers already met protesting farmers in Delhi yesterday and extended support.
Meanwhile his counterparts Badagalpura Nagendra and Kuruburu Shanthakumar have said they will be joining farmers to seal highways especially in Bengaluru and outskirts.
Farmers leader Nagendra said, there will not be any untoward incidents and the protest will be peaceful. He also claimed that there is no link between violation on Jan 26 at Delhi and farmers who are demanding repealing of three farm laws.
Travel to Airport to take a hit
To ensure the State capital feels the heat, farmers have decided to block Devanahalli Road which falls under National Highway connecting Bengaluru-Hyderabad.
Similarly, State Highway connecting Mysuru-Bengaluru, Magadi-Bengaluru, Bengaluru-Doddaballapura roads will be blocked.
Bengaluru City Police Chief: No Permission given for protest
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said no permission was sought from the department or from anyone to protest in City limits. However, since the matter is sensitive, the Police team will be deployed in all highways connecting the city to prevent any untoward incidents.
