As the daily positive cases have started to slow down, it has been decided that Karnataka will go for unlocking. However, the process for unlocking will be taken up under five phases as per reports. CM BS Yediyurappa is likely to chair an important meeting to announce the same today.

Going by the statement of Revenue Minister R Ashoka who said that the state will initiate with relaxation on timings, there may be some relaxations.

At present, there is a relaxation for public movement and for essentials' shopping from 6 am to 10 am. The minister also hinted at some breather for those who go to parks for walking and fitness.

"Lockdown will be relaxed in phases, most probably it may be done in four to five phases. First will be timings, now the relaxation (for shopping) that is there between 6 to 10 am, it may get extended further. Also those who go for a walk at parks may get some relief. All this is subjected to a final decision by the Chief Minister. Lockdown will not be relaxed at one go," Ashoka was quoted saying as per reports.

As per reports, complete relaxation will be given only for sectors and commercial establishments that create employment.

Reportedly the expert committee has advised the state not to give any permission for any kind of fares, festivals, political events and districts that have more cases will continue with restrictions on all kinds of transport.

Bengaluru with more deaths is likely to get an extension in relaxation till 1 pm.

As Bengaluru city still has about 1,000 to 1,500 positive cases and reports more deaths, it will not have complete relaxation. Vegetable shops and grocery stores get an extension till 1 pm. Park-goers for health benefits may get good news as a blueprint has been sent to the CM by the BBMP Commissioner who will take a decision soon.
