Karnataka board exams 2021: II PUC cancelled, SSLC exam to be held in July 3rd week – check details

Meanwhile, the government will go ahead with SSLC examination and it will be held in July third week. Students will have to attempt two examinations - multiple choice question paper format. One examination will be for core subjects and another examination will be conducted for languages.

Karnataka has decided not to hold the II PUC examination, Education Minister Suresh Kumar announced on Friday.  All students will be promoted based on their performance in the I PUC examinations, the minister said.

The Karnataka education board is considering conducting II PUC examination for the students who are not satisfied with their grades. “If any student is not satisfied with these assessments, the department is considering holding exams only for them after the Covid situation improves,” the government said in a press conference.

He shared that they had done all the preparations, but students are divided on whether to give exams or not. Hence, the state has decided to cancel 2nd PUC exams. Karnataka SSLC Exams 2021, however, would be conducted in 3rd week of July.

Speaking on the examination, Suresh Kumar said that the decision to scrap 2nd PUC was taken after feedback from all stakeholders as some wanted the exam while others did not. As for Karnataka SSLC, the examination would be conducted in 3rd week of July. Also, Only two exams would be conducted - one would be language while the other would be a multiple choice question on science math and social sciences. Also, only vaccinated teachers would be invigilators.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while announcing the decision to cancel CBSE 12th Examination had also asked all to be sympathetic towards the students. Speaking on the same, Kumar today said that the decision to scrap 2nd PUC Examination was taken keeping the safety and concerns of the students in mind. With the decision, Karnataka joins other states like Gujarat, Haryana and even Uttar Pradesh to cancel the Class 12 Examinations.
